The Generosity Bottle to benefit Vermont flood relief

Jun 16, 2023

Vermont Business Magazine The Generosity Bottle of Pure Vermont Maple Syrup is back! The first run of the Generosity Bottle was in 2021, and Mansfield Maple Products raised over $12,000 for Camp Ta-kum-ta, a summer camp in Vermont that serves children recovering from and fighting cancer.

Once again, Mansfield Maple Products is partnering with Jen Ellis of Generosity Brings Joy, this time to raise money for Vermont flood relief. Last month the region was battered by severe storms that dumped up to eight inches of rain resulting in catastrophic flooding across Vermont. Entire towns were underwater, and communities isolated as roads washed out. Homes, businesses, and infrastructure were destroyed. Some people lost everything as the floodwaters poured into their homes. In Hardwick, Vermont a hotel was washed right off its foundation and carried away by the river.

Since the initial flooding, the region has continued to get hammered with storms. The ground is so saturated that an inch of rain is causing flash floods and hampering the recovery effort. The ground has become unstable in some areas causing mudslides that have damaged homes and properties.

It will take years to rebuild, and to help this cause we have partnered with the Vermont Community Foundation as the beneficiary of all profits from this second run of the Generosity Bottle.

“We are grateful to Mansfield Maple and delighted that The Generosity Bottle will help support the VT Flood Response & Recovery Fund,” said Dan Smith, president & CEO of the Vermont Community Foundation. “There is so much generosity in Vermont, and it’s wonderful to see it flowing here. Together we will continue to help the people, businesses, and communities most affected by this summer’s flooding.”

Jen Ellis is the mother, partner, teacher, community member, and crafter, who made the famous Bernie Sanders Inauguration Day Mittens. She harnessed the fame brought by these famous mittens and created Generosity Brings Joy to collaborate and raise awareness and funding for worthwhile causes. The Generosity Bottle features a custom label design, inspired by Bernie's mittens and the story of Jen and her work. Jen has been busy since that inauguration day when her mittens became famous. Over the years she has worked with companies like Mansfield Maple to raise money to help those in need. Jen has also written a new book that was just released called Bernie's Mitten Maker.

While Bernie Sanders and his famous mittens are central to this story, it's not about politics. It's grown beyond that to become a platform for good, serving communities in need. Cast politics aside and help us come together to support the Vermont communities that have been impacted by these recent storms.

We've committed up to 2500 bottles and will give 100% of the profits from this project to help Vermonters rebuild in the wake of the flood devastation. This limited-edition Generosity Bottle is ready for preorder. Once we have all of the orders in and the labels are printed we will produce and deliver your Generosity Bottle. The Generosity Bottle is more than just a bottle of the world's finest pure Vermont maple syrup. It's a symbol of your kindness and generosity during this time of need.
